What can you do, what can you visit?

The nearest town is the medieval market town of Louhans (approx. 9,000 inhabitants). With it's famous 'Grande Rue' of 157 tiled arcades, the heart of the town since the XI century, and many smaller side streets, it's a paradise for shoppers and lovers of old architecture alike, or you can just sit at one of the many restaurants and cafe's and watch the world go by.

Monday mornings, not to be missed, is the 'hussle and bussle' of the market. It's one of the most important agricultural markets in France. Another must see is the is the "Hotel Dieu" where from 1682 to 1977 the nuns of Sainte Marthe looked after the poor in one large hospital room. The building is especially famous for it's apothecary. Housing, in magnificent wooden cabinets, a fine collection of jars from around the world, decorated earthenware dating back to the XVth and XVth centuries, it has a magical atmosphere of times gone by.

Just a little further, for all motor sport lovers there is the "Circuit de Bresse". There are tracks for cars, motorbikes or carting. It's well established as the best of it's kind for miles around.
